Kubica: outlook
Robert Kubica has said that he does not view BMW Sauber team-mate Nick Heidfeld as his chief rival in Formula One.
The Pole has been the team's best driver so far this season and is currently fourth in the Drivers' Championship with 32 points, 12 ahead of Heidfeld.
The latter recently admitted that Kubica's fast pace "is a bit of a concern because I don't like being slower than my team-mate and Formula One is my life".
However, Kubica reckons beating Heidfeld is not a priority - that scenario being one the 23-year-old hopes will look after itself by virtue of him winning races.
Kubica, who finished second in Sunday's Monaco Grand Prix, told BMW Sauber's website: "That is not my outlook on racing.
"My team-mate is not my most important opponent. I don't concentrate so much on him.
"I know that some other drivers see this completely differently. I, personally, am not racing against my team-mate, but against all 19 drivers.
"If I leave them all behind me, then I automatically leave my team-mate behind me too."
