Piquet: concerns
Team Boss Flavio Briatore has rubbished claims that Nelson Piquet Jr's days at Renault are numbered.
The Brazilian rookie has yet to score a single point in six grands prix as he struggles to come to terms with his promotion from test driver to a race seat.
His travails have led to growing concerns at Renault, who were rumoured even to be considering Piquet's future - assuming he fails to improve over the next three races.
The team were also believed to be considering a shoot-out between former Super Aguri driver Takuma Sato and GP2 starlet Romain Grosjean with a view to finding a replacement.
However, Briatore has denied this, the Italian telling sportnet: "Nelsinho definitely has talent. He is a part of the team and we need him. I have no doubts about that."
