Although a broken exhaust ended his hopes of victory, Kimi Raikkonen was still happy with second place in the French Grand Prix.
The defending World Champion started on pole position at Magny-Cours and appeared to be on course for a win before his Ferrari's right-hand exhaust became loose.
The Finn was forced cede the lead to team-mate Felipe Massa but nevertheless managed to bring his car home in second place.
Raikkonen later lamented his misfortune but, after failing to pick up points in the last two races, was happy with the eight he earned on Sunday.
"It was disappointing in the end. We had a good car all weekend, being on pole, leading it quite easily and then I had problem with the car," he said.
"Unfortunately that happens sometimes. In one way we were still lucky to finish the race and get the eight points.
"During the last couple of laps the car almost stopped a few times.
"So even if it's disappointing not to win when we maybe should have, I'll still take the eight points."
The result means that Raikkonen has moved up a place to third in the Drivers' Championship, five points behind new pacesetter Massa.
He added: "We're in a more comfortable position in the Championship now.
"A great result for the team, just an unlucky situation."
