Bourdais: Penalised

Sebastien Bourdais has been penalised five grid places for Sunday's Hungarian Grand Prix after impeding Nick Heidfeld in qualifying.

The BMW Sauber driver was furious with Bourdais after he was knocked out in the first session of qualifying, the German's best time only being good enough for 16th on the grid.

However, Heidfeld says his poor display wasn't down to a lack of pace; rather, it was because the Toro Rosso driver blocked him when he was trying to improve his time.

"Towards the end of the lap I had one car in front which was on an out lap. He saw me and accelerated," Heidfeld said.

"I then overtook Sebastien Bourdais before the last corner, and then Sebastien was right in my way.

"I was hoping it was so obvious he would be penalised right away and I could still get into Q2."

Heidfeld could not improve his time. However, Bourdais was later penalised by race stewards, who docked him five grid slots.

That means the Frenchman will now start from 19th place on the Hungaroring grid.
