Webber: disappointing recent form
Mark Webber has bemoaned Red Bull's poor performance during the European Grand Prix in Valencia.
Red Bull were one of the most consistent performers in the first half of the season, with either Webber or team-mate David Coulthard picking up points seven of the first eight races of the year.
But things have gone downhill since the French Grand Prix, and the team have failed to score any points in the last four races.
Webber believes a lot of hard work lies ahead if they want to turn things around quickly.
"It is dead boring, but we do seriously need to go through a lot of things because we've been on the ropes since P1," the Australian told Autosport. "We got smashed in the race as well.
"I am sure we will dig our lot on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday but unfortunately the knock-out hits have already been served. Whatever way we skin the cat here, we didn't start well and we didn't finish well."
The 31-year-old admits they "don't quite understand" what is wrong with their car.
"We started the season off really well, getting lots of points and being reliable and things were going our way," he added.
"Then, it all started at the Hockenheim test and we have struggled since then - we haven't been competitive in any session, anywhere or any race.
"We are on the limit in qualifying to get through to Q3, and with a 10th we could have gone through, but we would still have got smashed in the race.
"Other people must be putting some performance on their cars or we are doing something with our cars that we don't quite understand."
