No problems: Alonso and Kubica
Robert Kubica has said that he would be perfectly happy partnering Fernando Alonso at BMW Sauber next season.
Like Honda, the Swiss-German team are keen to secure the services of the Spaniard should he decide to leave Renault at the end of 2008.
Team principal Mario Theissen revealed at the Italian Grand Prix that they have delayed the decision on their driver line-up for next season and are willing to wait for Alonso, saying "we are the strongest team now which has an open seat for next year".
Now Kubica has revealed that he would have no problem teaming up with the double World Champion, a personal friend, next year.
"I think I will not have any problems," Kubica is quoted by autosport.com. "Especially because we know quite well. Fernando and me have the same view on racing, and quite similar driving styles.
"I think there are no real downsides to have him, but as I said I never have a problem with my team-mate. Whether it is him or Nick (Heidfeld), my approach is always the same."
Kubica also dismissed reports linking him with a move to Ferrari and hopes Kimi Raikkonen's decision to sign a new contract will finally put the rumours to bed.
He added: "It changes nothing. The Ferrari thing, it shows it was just rumours and that is it. There is no difference."
