Both McLaren Mercedes and Honda have confirmed they will test at the new Autodromo Internacional Algarve in Portugal in December.

Earlier this week McLaren announced that they would run from December 15-17 at the new track.

Honda have now confirmed that they will join the running, while autosport.com claims that Ferrari have said there's a "strong possibility" they too could be there.

The website also claims that the outing might be a precursor to the track joining F1's roster of test venues in 2009.

The Autodromo Internacional Algarve not only features multiple circuit configurations but also has a high-tech watering system that will be used to simulate wet weather running.

The 2.91-mile circuit will officially be opened on November 2.
