Buemi: Quickest again
Toro Rosso's Sebastien Buemi once again topped the timesheets in testing at Portimao on Tuesday.
As on Monday, running was marred by bad weather, which saw a wet track at the start of the day before drying out.
However, no sooner had that happened then the rain once again came down - bringing with it a hail shower.
Running in the team's 2008-vintage STR3 chassis, the 20-year-old Swiss driver made the most of the drying track to set the day's fastest lap time of one minute 34.429 seconds.
He was therefore over three seconds clear of the second-placed driver, McLaren Mercedes' Pedro de la Rosa.
De la Rosa spent his second day behind the wheel of McLaren's MP4-24, carrying out system checks on the team's 2009 challenger.
Third quickest was Toyota's Jarno Trulli, who was testing his team's new TF109 car for the first time on Tuesday.
However, the Italian was almost five seconds down on de la Rosa's pace.
Renault's Nelson Piquet Jr. finished in fourth place, completing just nine laps in the team's new R29 before an engine problem intervened.
Nico Rosberg, having his first run in Williams' FW31, completed the timesheets, 17 seconds off the pace.
Times:
1 S. Buemi Scuderia Toro Rosso 1:34.429 48 laps
2 P. de la Rosa McLaren 1:37.512 62 laps
3 J. Trulli Toyota 1:42.399 30 laps
4 N. Piquet Jr. Renault 1:45.860 9 laps
5 N. Rosberg Williams 1:51.580 31 laps
