Super Aguri will not be making a return to Formula One, according to the team's former co-owner Fumio Akita.
With the FIA set to introduce a £40million budget cap for next year's Championship, co-owner Aguri Suzuki reportedly told Sankei Sports newspaper that "if it's physically possible I would certainly like to" return to Formula One.
But Akita believes that even with a budget cap in place it would be impossible for the team to find the money needed to make a comeback.
"There's absolutely no chance," Akita said. "Even without the world financial crisis and its effect on Japan's economy we couldn't afford it."
"We already pulled out once because we did not have the resources to continue. Even if we had $60 million to spend we would have to start from scratch again."
Akita added that the earlier quotes attributed to Suzuki were also not true.
He added: "We don't know where these newspaper reports came from but Aguri has also said there's no chance (of a return)."
