Formula One supremo Bernie Ecclestone has threatened to remove the British Grand Prix from the 2010 calendar if the British Racing Drivers' Club fail to sign a contract in the coming days.

Talks between Ecclestone and the BRDC, who own Silverstone, have been ongoing since Donington Park's interest in hosting the Grand Prix waned due to a lack of funds.

Club president Damon Hill was part of a three-strong Silverstone delegation in Abu Dhabi last weekend, and he said Ecclestone must remain patient.

However, it has now become apparent that the 79-year-old is losing patience with the BRDC's reluctance to commit to a deal.

"They say there is not much between us and them, so they should sign," Ecclestone was quoted as saying in the Daily Express.

"Maybe they have lost their pen but if they don't find it in the next day or two then that is it.

"I will pull the race off the calendar and there will be no British Grand Prix to argue about."
