Ricciardo: paced day three
British F3 champion Daniel Ricciardo completed the final day of testing in 2009 at the top of the timesheets, easily outpacing his rivals.
The last test of the season, which took place at Spain's Jerez circuit, saw the stars of tomorrow pit themselves against one another and for many it was their first ever taste of Formula One.
Ricciardo, who was in action for Red Bull Racing, proved his worth, clocking a best of one minute 17.418 seconds during his 77 laps.
However, the day was not problem free as he took an early shower after his Red Bull's Renault engine expired, forcing him to stop out on track.
But despite his early finish, his time proved to be unbeatable with Force India's Paul di Resta coming closest, 1.318s adrift.
Third place went to McLaren test driver Gary Paffett, 0.01s off di Resta's pace while Mike Conway, driving the championship-winning Brawn GP, was fourth.
Meanwhile, Nico Hulkenberg, the only driver in action who has already secured a F1 seat for next year, finished in fifth place, 1.808s behind.
Bertrand Baguette, driving for Sauber on Thursday, was sixth quickest, ahead of Oliver Turvey and Marcus Ericsson.
