Yamamoto: doing a good job
Hispania Racing team principal Colin Kolles has said that Sakon Yamamoto will continue to race for them.
The Japanese driver, who is thought to bring funding to the cash-strapped Spanish outfit, first drove for them in the British Grand Prix where he replaced Bruno Senna.
Although Senna returned to the cockpit for the German Grand Prix, team-mate Karun Chandhok was forced to vacate his seat for Yamamoto and the Indian driver has also been sidelined in Hungary and Belgium.
Kolles' praise for his driver comes despite the fact that Yamamoto has finished dead last in each of the three races in which he has taken the chequered flag.
In Sunday's Belgian Grand Prix, the 28-year-old was a lap down on the driver immediately ahead of him, Lotus Racing's Jarno Trulli.
"I think both drivers (Senna and Yamamoto) are doing a good job," said Kolles.
"We had the best qualifying result in Spa so far, and Sakon's lap times were at the same level as (Lotus driver Heikki) Kovalainen's and (Virgin Racing driver Timo) Glock's in the race.
"I think there is no reason to make any changes so far."
Kolles also expressed satisfaction with progress made by the team, who were last-minute arrivals at the season-opening Bahrain Grand Prix having failed to undertake any pre-season testing.
"I am very proud (of the team) because we cannot say we had an optimal pre-season preparation. I think they are doing a fantastic job," he added.
"The team is becoming more and more one unit, and we are making progress.
"With more sponsors on board that situation is also improving. As I mentioned before, in F1 you need a lot of support and this is what we are trying to achieve.
"But we have to work hard to get as much sponsorship as possible for 2011."
