Leicester Tigers have bolstered their pack for next season with the signing of England Saxons captain George Skivington.
The 27-year-old will make the switch to Welford Road in the summer after making more than 125 appearances for Wasps.
The 6ft 6in 18st lock, who made his Wasps debut in 2003, has skippered the Saxons for the past two seasons.
And Tigers head coach Richard Cockerill believes Skivington will go on to become an integral part of the Leicester coach.
"The second row is an area we have been looking at, especially as Richard Blaze has been out with long-term injury," said Cockerill.
"George will certainly add to our strength in that area. He is a player who thrives on his work around the pitch, he is very competitive on the pitch and his leadership qualities have been recognised with the England Saxons captaincy in the last couple of seasons.
"I'm looking forward to seeing him working in this environment and I'm sure he will make his mark with Leicester Tigers."
Despite being sad to end his long association with Wasps, Skivington is relishing the chance of a new challenge.
"It has been a very difficult decision to leave the club that has played home to me for nine years, but with myself and my partner Rhiannon expecting our first child, we have made the decision to move out of the capital and begin a new challenge both personally and professionally," he said.
"I have been fortunate enough to play and train under some of the best coaches and players in the game at Wasps and I will leave with very happy memories and some great friendships."
As a devoted Wasps fan it's sad to see him go, as George has been an integral part of the Wasps team over the previous seasons. It's going to be good for his career, hopefully he'll get the interrnational recognition that he deserves, he's by far and away a better player than Bothwick, in every aspect of the game, maybe now he'll be wearing Tigers shirt, Johnson will finally notice him and give him a shot for the elite squad (see Crane, Deacon, etc...)
