Taupo: Hosting round of A1GP series
Race organisers have confirmed that the picturesque Taupo circuit will again host a round of the A1 GP series this season.
With Zandvoort in the Netherlands already named as the season opener on September 30, the full calendar of races will be published next week.
However, organisers of New Zealand's round have stolen a march and said that, after hosting their inaugural event last season, the 'World Cup of Motorsport' will again visit between January 18-20 next year.
Newly appointed chief executive of the Taupo event, Gary Dawson, also said that the meeting will be the sixth round of the championship.
"A1GP management were thrilled with the success of the inaugural event this year and see Taupo as a great fit with the series," he added.
