Emre: Going back to Turkey
Newcastle United have confirmed Emre Belozoglu is on his way back to Turkey with Fenerbahce.
Emre has been given permission to discuss personal terms with Fenerbahce after the Magpies settled on a fee with last season's UEFA Champions League quarter-finalists.
Fenerbahce had previously announced a deal was in place and now Newcastle have confirmed the move is close to completion.
Magpies manager Kevin Keegan is looking to fine-tune his squad over the summer and has decided Emre does not fit into his long-term plans.
The 27-year-old joined Newcastle from Internazionale three years ago, but has struggled for consistency on Tyneside.
He has scored six goals in 80 appearances for the club, but injury problems have kept him out of Keegan's side since early February.
Emre is currently with the Turkish squad ahead of Euro 2008, but is expected to sign a three-year contract with Fenerbahce.
