Zenit St Petersburg will meet with Arsenal officials on Tuesday as the two clubs look to strike an agreement over Andrei Arshavin.

The Gunners have already had a reported £10million bid rejected by the Russian club, with the Uefa Cup holders rumoured to be seeking a fee nearer £20million.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is optimistic he will land Arshavin this transfer window, and Zenit club spokesman Alexei Petrov has confirmed talks will continue next week, with chief executive Ivan Gazidis set to fly out to Russia.

Petrov said: "Zenit have invited Arsenal officials to come to St Petersburg next Tuesday.

"Zenit does want to find an acceptable option for everyone."
