Bordeaux are believed to have emerged as the front-runners in the race to sign Le Mans goalkeeper Yohann Pele.

One of the most highly-rated shot-stoppers in Ligue 1, the 26-year-old has recently been called into the France squad and is out of contract in June.

He has already caught the attention of Roma and Valencia, along with a host of British clubs such as Arsenal, Celtic, Portsmouth and Tottenham.

Pele has spoken previously of his desire to play abroad, but Aujourd'hui Sport has reported that Ligue 1 champions-elect Bordeaux are now his preferred choice.

"It is one of the biggest French clubs, it can only be exciting," said Pele, who has spent his entire career at Le Mans.
