AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has confirmed the Italian side's interest in signing Edin Dzeko.

The Wolfsburg striker has previously been linked with both Arsenal and Manchester City.

But Milan could now be in pole position to sign the Bosnian after Galliani confirmed he had met with Dzeko's father on Saturday night.

He told Sky Italia: "I was in Sarajevo for Dzeko.

"We like him a lot. Now we wait for Wolfsburg."

Contracts

Wolfsburg executive Jurgen Marbach has admitted discussions have taken place with Milan, but insists they do not want to let the 'indispensable' Dzeko move on.

He told Kicker: "We are in touch with Milan, we have not talked about money.

"Edin Dzeko is indispensable and we do not need to talk about money.

"We are still thinking contracts are contracts because they are valid until they expire. They are not just only a sheet of paper."
