Sky Sports News understands Wolves are close to signing Serbia international Nenad Milijas from Red Star Belgrade.

The 26-year-old central midfielder is expected to become Mick McCarthy's first summer signing, joining on a four-year deal and a fee close to £3million.

Milijas has attracted interest from Aston Villa and Birmingham, but Wolves look to have beaten their Midlands rivals to the Serbia star's signature.

The versatile player adds another option to McCarthy's squad as the Molineux outfit bid to strengthen for their Premier League survival campaign next season.
