Barcelona are set to sign Brazilian starlet Keirrison after agreeing a €14million (£12m) deal with Palmeiras.

The fee for the 20-year-old, who is due to have a medical on Friday, could rise to €16million depending on first-team appearances.

Keirrison scored 21 league goals for his previous club Coritiba. He moved to Palmeiras in January and scored five goals in seven league matches.

Meanwhile, the youngster has confirmed he is happy going on loan after being linked with Benfica.

Open to loan

The striker admits it would be more beneficial for him to gain experience of European football by playing rather than warming Pep Guardiola's bench in the short term.

"I'm really happy to be joining Barcelona," he told Sport.es. "I'd be happy going out on loan as it would help me get to know European football better.

"I have no problems with this. I accept that there's room for me to improve on my arrival.

The 20-year-old believes he is good enough to cut it with the European champions, adding: "I know I have the level to succeed in Barcelona."
