Parry unsure if defender will decide to stay at Prenton Park

Tranmere Rovers manager Les Parry believes it is '50/50' whether Zoumana Bakayogo will sign a new contract. The 23-year-old, who played a central role in helping Rovers fight off relegation last season by playing 34 league and cup games, was offered a new deal in May. Yet Parry says he has only just begun negotiations with the French defender, who he would like to be part of his plans for the 2010/11 campaign. He told the Liverpool Daily Post: "We've not been able to get in touch with Zoum until recently because he was in France and also on holiday somewhere. "Now we will be able to have a chat and hopefully to agree something. But I'm still not certain. I'm only 50/50 about signing him." Elsewhere, Parry has agreed a fee for an unnamed midfield player, adding: "We have agreed a deal with another club for a young midfielder, just to tide us over with Alan Mahon being out of action until Christmas with a knee injury. "We are talking to an agent about a striker coming in and we are looking for another front player."
