De Bruyne: Wants Chelsea move
Kevin de Bruyne has revealed his anger that Genk have prevented his move to Chelsea.
The Blues have been chasing the Genk winger for over 12 months and were looking to make him their third Belgian signing of the summer following on from Romelu Lukaku and Thibaut Courtois.
But Genk have refused Chelsea's offer and it seems increasingly likely that a deal will not be finalised before the transfer window closes.
"I'm disappointed in the attitude of Genk," De Bruyne told Het Nieuwsblad.
"I do not want any controversy, but I'm disappointed in the attitude of Genk.
"Chelsea was a very nice offer, the club wanted me to stay for one year in Genk.
"I hope it still goes on, because this is a dream for me.
"I wanted to give everything for one year in Genk and with a good feeling to say goodbye to the club and the supporters."
De Bruyne's agent Patrick de Koster has confirmed to skysports.com that he still hopes the deal could go through.
"We are having discussions about a transfer and I have a meeting with Genk and we will have to see what can be resolved," he told skysports.com.
"I think the discussions will be very long because I think we will need some time to find the right solution.
"But I would say that it is an opportunity for Kevin to make enormous progress in his career and that is the most important thing at the moment. We hope they will let him go."
