Portsmouth have signed teenage midfielder Jean Francois Christophe from Lens.

The youngster has been training with Pompey during pre-season and featured in the friendly with Bournemouth.

He impressed Harry Redknapp in the game and has now been given a two-year contract at Fratton Park.

Redknapp told the club's official website: "He's a good player and when he came off the bench at Bournemouth he looked good."

Christophe, who had yet to make an impact at Lens, is expected to be loaned out to gain experience in the coming season.
