Young Arsenal forward Vincent van den Berg has joined Dutch club Go Ahead Eagles on loan until the end of the season.

The 18-year-old moved to Arsenal from Heerenveen in the summer of 2006 and made a late substitute appearance in Dennis Bergkamp's testimonial, the first match to be played at Emirates Stadium.

Last season he continued his development with Arsenal's reserve side and also featured 10 times for the Steve Bould's Under 18s.

He has not been able to break into Arsene Wenger's first-team squad but will be hoping to challenge for a spot next term after being sent out to gain more experience.

Van den Berg's arrival will also boost Go Ahead Eagles' chances of winning promotion to the Eredivisie.
