Cole: Burnley switch
Veteran striker Andy Cole has joined Burnley on loan from Sunderland until the end of the season.
Cole has failed to make an impact at the Stadium of Light following his summer move from Portsmouth and has been restricted to just three starting appearances.
The former England international played alongside Black Cats boss Roy Keane at Manchester United and enjoyed great success at Old Trafford.
He is the second highest scorer in the history of the Premier League with 187 goals, and now has the chance to impress at Championship level with Burnley.
Clarets boss Owen Coyle believes Cole could play a key role in their push for promotion to the Premier League.
He told the club's official website: "I am absolutely delighted to bring a player of Andy Cole's stature and quality to the football club.
"I have been working on signing him for a while now and I am thrilled to have him. He will be a tremendous addition for Burnley and gives us a big, big boost."
Cole is set to make his debut for Burnley in their clash with Championship leaders West Brom at The Hawthorns on Saturday.
