West Bromwich Albion have finalised a permanent deal for Czech Republic striker Roman Bednar.

The 25-year-old joined the Baggies from Hearts on loan last summer and enjoyed a productive season at the Hawthorns.

Bednar scored 17 goals in 34 appearances for West Brom as Tony Mowbray's side clinched promotion to the Premier League and reached the FA Cup semi-finals.

Mowbray has now exercised the option to make it a permanent arrangement, with the Baggies paying £2.5million.

The forward had joined Hearts from Mlada Boleslav in 2005 and scored 13 goals in 50 games during his time at Tynecastle.
