Barcelona have agreed a deal for Henrique and will loan the Brazilian youngster out to Bayer Leverkusen.

Henrique has accepted a five-year contract at Camp Nou and will link up with the Spanish giants from Palmeiras.

A fee of 8million euros (£6.3million) has been agreed, with Palmeiras to receive a further 2million euros (£1.6million), if Barca qualify for the UEFA Champions League upon Henrique's return from Bayer.

The defender has been a long-term target for Barca, but will enjoy his first experience of European club football with Bayer in the Bundesliga in the coming season.

New Barca coach Pep Guardiola is overhauling his squad and has also accepted an offer from Ajax for defender Oleguer.
