Blackpool have announced the signing of midfielder David Vaughan from Spanish outfit Real Sociedad in a £200,000 transfer.

The 25-year-old has agreed a two-year-deal with the option for further year and is seeking international clearance in time to make his debut against Bristol City on Saturday.

Vaughan joined Sociedad last summer after being signed by former Fulham manager Chris Coleman and made seven appearances in Spain last season.

"I'm pleased to come back," the former Crewe man said.

"It's been a bit of a tough twelve months in Spain but I'm glad to be back and playing for Blackpool."
