Bayern Munich have reached an agreement with Mario Gomez which will see the striker move to Allianz Arena.
Bayern had been tracking the Germany international for some time and are delighted to have got their man.
Reports suggest the Bundesliga rivals have agreed a £26million deal, with the 23-year-old set to pen a five-year deal.
"Bayern Munich are delighted that Mario Gomez has decided to join our club," said chief executive Karl-Heinz Rimmenigge.
"Mario is a top class striker that has scored over twenty goals in each of the last three seasons. He has proven to be one of the best strikers in the Bundesliga.
"We are now looking forward to having him on our team."
Stuttgart, unsurprisingly, are disappointed to be parting with their prized asset, but accept they were left with little choice.
"We were able to keep Mario at our club two times in the past, but now he has decided to move on," said general manager Horst Heldt.
"This is a real pity. Mario Gomez has done great things for Stuttgart and was a key part of our success this season."
Meanwhile, Bayern general manager Uli Hoeness has revealed that Schalke keeper Manuel Neuer remains another top target for his side this summer.
"There is only one goalkeeper we are keeping tabs on. That goalkeeper is Manuel Neuer," he told Sport-Bild.
"We have already told Schalke we are interested.
"If we are not able to get him, we will start next season with Michael Rensing and Jorg Butt."
