Benfica have sealed the signing of Javier Saviola from Real Madrid.

Saviola has signed a three-year deal with the option of a fourth with the Portuguese giants after agreeing personal terms and passing a medical.

The Argentine international has been seeking a move away from Real for some time after failing to establish himself at El Santiago Bernabeu.

Saviola started less than 20 league games during his two seasons in the Spanish capital and Real are willing to let him leave following the arrivals of Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka.
