Lille have announced the signing of Gervinho on a three-year contract from Le Mans.

The striker expressed his excitement at the imminent move earlier on Tuesday and the transfer has now been confirmed.

It is understood that a deal worth around €6million (£5.2million) has been agreed between the two clubs.

Lille, who finished fifth in Ligue 1 last season, will de delighted to capture Gervinho after losing Michel Bastos to Lyon.

Ivory Coast international Gervinho has been with Le Mans for the past two seasons, scoring nine goals in 59 appearances.
