Cameroon midfielder Geremi has left Newcastle to join Turkish side Ankaragucu.

Newcastle have allowed the former Middlesbrough and Chelsea move on as he does not figure in Chris Hughton's long-term plans.

The 31-year-old has only made nine appearances in all competitions this season and Ankaragucu have moved to lure him away from Tyneside.

Geremi has experience of playing in Turkey in the past after enjoying a two-year spell with Genclerbirligi between 1997-99.

Geremi, who has signed a 18-month deal at Ankaragucu will link up with former Manchester City star Darius Vassell at the club.
