Wilson: Liverpool deal
Defender Danny Wilson has penned a three-year deal with Liverpool from Rangers after passing his medical.
The Merseyside club will pay £2million up front to the Ibrox side for the 18-year-old centre-back, with a further £3m dependent on appearances and add-ons.
Wilson, the Scottish Football Association and Football Writers' Young Player of the Year, insists he is ready for the Premier League move.
"This is a massive challenge for me. This is one of the best leagues in the world and I will be playing for one of the biggest teams in the world," said Wilson.
"Coming here from Scotland, people may say I might not be ready for this, but that is a challenge I want to put on myself and that's the reason I came here.
"It wasn't a difficult decision to come here as Liverpool are not a team who come in for you every day, so I can't wait to get started.
"There were other clubs interested in me who are in the Champions League, but once Liverpool came in for me there was only one team I wanted to go to."

Great signing for "New Leeds" , keep on throwing money at players please, because if you fail to get champions league football next season again you're in trouble. Oh and to the Liverpool Superfan it's spelled Hansen, Hanson was a pop band in the 90s.

How odd will it feel for Wilson coming from a place where the song ' You'll Never Walk Alone' is forbidden, now he will hear it nearly every week. I can only wish him the best but I must agree he will not be in the first team, yet. Maybe in a few years time.

Another young talent from Scotland will jump at the cash, stay in the reserves for 3 years and after getting no playing time will probably come back to play with Cowdenbeath, Queens Park or anybody else who will take him. Wilson if you honestly believe that your good enough to be a regular in the Liverpool first team then I would invest in extra padding, cause it's a long fall from cloud 9.

A good bit of business by Rangers, although I wouldn't expect too much in the way of the add ons in the future, I personally don't think he'll play that much, he'll be groomed for the future, more than likely at other clubs. He is a very good prospect and I wish he would have stayed where he was, could have extended his contract which would have been beneficial to both parties. Best of wishes for the future Danny.

Great signing, defiantly one for the future. Most probably play a few league games this season and the Carling Cup. My opinion is changing about Roy already. The main priority now is the left back position.

I hate to break it to you Danny but you wont be playing for one of the biggest teams in the world, you'll be playing for one of the biggest teams in the world's reserve teams (if you're lucky) Just another player that prefers cash over games but i look forward to seeing you in the Liverpool 1st team in about 3 years time. JUDAS!

Top signing by Liverpool , this is one for the future and slowly being introduced to the first team this year wont do the boy any harm as he has done it at Rangers , is he gonna be the new Alan Hanson ? i think so ! Liverpool are making some VERY good moves in the market , Since rafa has gone there is an air of belief again in the club and positive statments coming out once more, only way way for Liverpool now and that is UP !!!!
