Gorkss: Extended stay

Experienced defender Kaspars Gorkss has signed a two-year contract extension at Queens Park Rangers.

The Latvia international is now committed to the club until the summer of 2013.

The 28-year-old has been with Rangers since 2008, when he was snapped up from Blackpool following a prolonged transfer saga.

Since then he has made 85 appearances and scored three goals for the capital club.

He has been in fine form so far this season, helping QPR to the top of the Championship table.

With Gorkss providing an assured presence at the heart of the back four, Neil Warnock's men have conceded just twice in their four fixtures to date.
