Young West Brom defender Paul Downing has joined League Two club Rotherham United on a youth loan until 4th January.

The 19-year-old, who has impressed as captain of Albion reserves this season, is eligible to make his debut for the fifth-placed Millers in their next game at Gillingham on Saturday week.

Downing, who came through the youth ranks at The Hawthorns, also enjoyed a loan spell at Hereford United during the second half of last season, making six starts for the Bulls.

The stopper arrives at the Don Valley Stadium to provide cover for injuries across the back four.
