Lindegaard: Signed
Anders is one of the brightest young keepers in the game.
Manchester United have completed the signing of Danish goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard from Aalesunds.
United have been chasing a new keeper for the past few months and were strongly linked with the likes of David De Gea and Gianluigi Buffon, but Sir Alex Ferguson has opted for Lindegaard.
The 26-year-old passed a medical in Manchester earlier this week and has now signed a deal until 2014 after the two clubs agreed an undisclosed fee.
Lindegaard will train with United from now, but he will not be eligible to play until the transfer window re-opens on 1st January.
Ferguson was delighted to get his man, commenting: "Anders is one of the brightest young keepers in the game.
"The challenge at Manchester United is always to look to the future and in Anders, we have signed a goalkeeper of great presence and even more promise.
"Having the time to train with him before he is registered will be an important period for him - almost like a pre-season to get him integrated with the other players."
Lindegaard added: "Joining Manchester United is a dream come true for me.
"The club is such an institution in Denmark, it's an honour to come here.
"I'm looking forward to playing and training alongside some of the great players in football today.
"I can't wait to be part of this team and to make my contribution to keeping the team at the top of the game."

SAF has done a good job to sign G.K . Now it is time he looks for replacement for Giggs and Scholes .

This keeper was getting knocked of the team OB in Denmark because of the arrival of Roy Carrol, but that's a few years ago now and i think that his perfomance in the tippeliga in Norway (best keeper) makes him very interesting, especially because of his age. I really hope that this is another great dane, but thats quite optimistic thinking. cheers from Denmark

There's no way this guy can be no. 1 at united, otherwise no more gloating of arsenal's keepers from united fans....Nice to see you blindly worshipping Ferguson just because he's got 'good judgement', he's certainly made mistakes with keepers before, that's for sure....

so many tried and tested young keepers out there who are available but who would have cost a bit more, yet united go for the relatively unproven cheap option. hoping that they're saving the money for the other positions we need to strengthen and get a few truly world class players but i won't hold my breath

Good signing,Fergie knows what he's at but i would have went for Given .I know it's a player from city but he has another 4 years left in him and Given deserves to win something. Has been a great player with no medal to show for it.

I think that this goal keeper has what it takes to become one of the best goal keepers around, now that he is going to a top quality club. Now he is coming to United, this will give him time to get better under better coaches. Fergie, again is trying his luck with this sort of signing, but if he reckons that this goal keeper has what it takes, then I would go along with his decisions.

I think SAF has made a great signing, hopefully he will be as good as PS, now all we need is a top class central midfielder and a replacement for Berbatov!

I think this spells the end for Tomas Kuzack, his outburst about first team football a few months ago will not have gone down well with Fergie. As good as Tomas is - he struggles with kicking and parries the ball far to often. I think SAF will give Scholes, giggs and VDS another year. Lindegaard will be second choice for a year with Amos number 3. I think Fergie will be keeping his fingers crossed that Anders will turn out to be a bargain. I cant see him being ready for first team premiership football next year.
