Manchester City have confirmed the signing of defender Stefan Savic from Partizan Belgrade on a four-year contract.

As initially revealed by skysports.com, the Montenegro international becomes Roberto Mancini's second signing in three days in the wake of the arrival of former Arsenal full-back Gael Clichy.

Savic, who can play at centre-back or right-back, was granted a work permit by the Home Office thanks to his prominence in the Montenegro national team.

The 20-year-old played his part in holding England to a 0-0 draw in a Euro 2012 qualifier at Wembley last October and he is now looking forward to working with players who were rivals.

"I was up against Shaun (Wright-Phillips) when he came on as a substitute and he was very tricky," Savic, who had a trial at Arsenal 12 months ago, told City's official website.

Fantastic

"I never imagined that I'd be team-mates with all those City players within a year and I'm so happy to be at this club.

"I watch the Premier League all the time and I know it's the place to be so I am just looking forward to helping this club achieve great things."
