Slovenian centre-back David Kasnik is set to join Sheffield Wednesday on loan from Olimpija Ljubljana.

The 24-year-old, who can also play at left-back, will stay with Gary Megson's side until at least February, according to Olimpija sporting director Milenko Acimovic.

He told the club's official website: "Kasnik got a very good offer from Sheffield Wednesday.

"Even the player himself wanted to move to England, where he will stay for at least six months."

Kasnik joined Olimpija from boyhood club NK Dravograd in 2008 and has notched up 47 appearances for the Slovenian side.
