Sevilla striker Alvaro Negredo has signed a new contract which will keep him at the club until the summer of 2016.
The Spain international's previous deal was due to expire in 2014 and the club have moved to ward off clubs interested in Negredo by offering him an improved two-year extension.
Sevilla have also inserted a buy-out clause of €50milion for the 26-year-old who was the subject of interest from Tottenham during the summer.
Negredo has established himself as one of the best forward's in Europe after arriving from Real Madrid in 2009 and Sevilla president Jose Maria del Nido was delighted to secure the player's long-term future.
"Alvaro is a very important player for us and a big part of the future for this," del Nido told the club's official website.
"By this move we have discarded his sale."
Negredo admitted he was happy to extend his stay at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan after snubbing several offers during the summer transfer window.
"I am content because this is the best choice," noted Negredo.
"In the summer I received many offers but I wanted to follow here."
