Kalou: Keen to stay
Salomon Kalou has attempted to fend off speculation surrounding his future by claiming he wants to become a Chelsea star.
The Ivory Coast international is currently down The Blues' pecking order having made just three substitute appearances for the club under new manager Luiz Felipe Scolari.
Kalou's lack of action has led to speculation he has grown unhappy at Stamford Bridge and that a January switch to Primera Liga giants Barcelona could be in the offing.
However, the 23-year-old has no plans to leave Chelsea and remains determined as ever to become one of Scolari's key players alongside the likes of John Terry and Didier Drogba.
"I want to be one of Chelsea's most important players, fulfil the expectations that people have of me and play a part in as many wins as possible," Kalou said in the Daily Star.
"I'm going to have to work hard, score a lot of goals and help set more up. I hope we can win all the competitions that we are taking part in."
Kalou has attempted to improve his starting chances by praising Avram Grant's replacement Scolari, claiming the Brazilian boss was the right man for the job.
"With some coaches you can tall straight away that they're good. In the first training sessions I could see he was the right man for the job," he continued.
"A lot of people feel we don't play attractively, but we can change the way they think and play football that's nice to watch."
