Harewood: Championship snub
Aston Villa striker Marlon Harewood is not interested in a move to the Championship, according to the player's agent.
Harewood has struggled for regular first-team football at Villa, and has yet to start a Premier League game this term.
The 29-year-old had been linked with a switch to Stoke City, but their capture of James Beattie from Sheffield United dampened the rumours.
Reports of interest from the Blades have surfaced, but Harewood's agent, Phil Sproson, insists the forward is in no hurry to leave Villa Park.
"Obviously that [the speculation] has come out of the fact that Sheffield United have sold James Beattie but Marlon won't go to Sheffield United," Sproson told the Birmingham Mail.
"It is totally out of the question. He won't go to the Championship.
"We are not exploring (the possibility of leaving). There has been a little bit of interest from one or two others but he is in no rush to leave Villa."
Sproson also claimed that Middlesbrough had a loan move rejected for Harewood, adding: "I think Middlesbrough have enquired about a loan and Villa won't loan him."
