Tevez: Uncertain future
Carlos Tevez has given his strongest indication yet that he will leave Manchester united in the summer.
The Argentine is currently nearing the end of a two-year loan deal at Old Trafford, and Red Devils manager Sir Alex Ferguson has said the club are keen to extend his stay.
But speculation over the forward's future continues to linger and during Wednesday night's 1-0 UEFA Champions League win over Arsenal, Tevez looked frustrated when he was replaced by striker Dimitar Berbatov on 66 minutes.
And now the 25-year-old has revealed he is leaning more towards a departure come the end of the season, with the Primera Division his preferred destination.
Tevez told Cadena COPE: "It's true I've spent a lot of time on the bench and I'd like to play more. But every time I'm given a chance I do all I can to do well and take full advantage.
"Yes, it's like that, it's true I see myself more leaving United than staying here.
"I don't see why I should lie to people or anything because the fans support me a lot as you can see. So I don't have any reason to lie to them.
"While I wear the United shirt I will leave my life on the pitch. You can see that in every game I play. I respect people a lot and I'm grateful to them.
"My future? I don't know what will happen for my future. I would like to go to Spain, yes, but I don't know yet.
"I have no preference for a team . . . we'll see.
"With respect to the fans and the history of Manchester United, I don't want to leave the club. But from a personal aspect, my exit will be the best solution.
"I need continuity in the team to offer my best. If this doesn't happen I believe this will be my last year."
Red Devils attacker Cristiano Ronaldo, meanwhile, has voiced his hope that Tevez, who has made 16 Premier League starts this term, remains with the Premier League and European champions.
He said in The Sun: "He's a great player. United have to keep their best players and Carlos is one of the best.
"I've played with him for two years now and we know each other well."

Tevez will be in a red shirt next season, but it will be about 30 mile along the East Lancs with Carlsberg on the front of it. Its got to hurt the Mancs, they will still love him but will they support him?

If I win the Euro Lottery jackpot tonight I will buy Carlos Tevez for the Hammers for £30 Million and what's left will pay his wages and because he single handedly got Neil Warnock & Sheffield United relegated he can take us to the Promised Land. As far as Hammers fans are concerned the man is a Legend

Well I may be a Liverpool supporter and of course I could say it is great just to be bad, but the truth his I feel sorry for Man united fans because Tevez is a great player and he will be a loss to them. I would love to see him come to Liverpool as he would greatly help us win the league. If it was Steven Gerrard leaving us I know how gutted I would be and how angry I would be that the bosses didn't want to spend the money to keep him. So again I will say it, I do feel sorry for Man united supporters!!

I can't believe that Tevez is going to leave. As a united fan tevez is far more better then Berbatov and worth 30m. Fergie will be wrong not to sign tevez, he is one of the best strikers out there and his work rate through games in and out is just like wayne rooneys. I hope and pray that this fantastic and special striker we currently have is not leaving old trafford.

In response to James Boyle the Boro fan. What is your point exactly? What does the price of Tevez have to do with being a real United fan? If you are going to have a rant make sure you've got something constructive to rant about! Yours faithfully a 90's United fan

It's rather unfortunate that this discussion has come down to a comparison between Berbatov and Tervez because both players have great unique qualities that compensate very well for United. However, skill without enthusiasm cannot replace grit and passion in a game like football. The kind of energy Tervez brings to United's game can only be equalled by Rooney on a very good day. How many times hasn't Tervez lost a ball and persistently chased and gotten it right back? For the offensive and defensive balance the Tervez posseses, my honesh opinion says SAF should sign him. Has anyone considered the fact that Berba might be injury prone because fo the lackadaisical approach to his game. Not too many defenders have the patience to wait on him. It could proof very coslty to let Tervez go!! I pray SAF makes the best call.

If Tevez is to leave Man U im sure he would fit in well at Liverpool as he is just the type of player Rafa likes hard working highly technical and can get his fair share of goals very much like the much under rated Kuyt who is an absolute legend. Lets wait and see but it would be great.

Tevez is a great player who puts in 110% every game, he works harder then Berbatov and as you can see from the 07-08 season him and Rooney did amazing together. i am not against us buying Dimitar but i think it should be Tevez making more starts at the moment because of the effort he puts in everything and everyone knows it!

Dimitar Berbatov and Carlos Tevez are both great players but ever since Berba came to old trafford Carlos has had near to no starts in big games like Arsenal, Chelsea, liverpool ect ... Berbatov is a phenomenal player but Tevez just does so much more for United his runs are just about perfect each time. Carlos and Dimitar will both be key on winning the Champions and premier league again this season.

Pros : Fast, hard working, tireless, agile, great physical and mental strength. Cons : Not the most skillful, not the most tricky, not the most creative, not the best passer, not the most clever player, not scoring enough as a forward. All the pros don't make him an automatic MU player. All the cons make him not a natural first eleven for MU. I love his attitude and I like to see him stay. Tevez is definitely good enough for MU but for MU to pay such money, someone has to be an out and out first-string MU class player like Rooney or Rio.

As a West Ham fan, I think he's awsome. With the help of Zamora and Green, he helped us survive so we owe him a lot of gratitude. He is also a great advert for the Premier League with his skill and attitude for the game and other professionals. However, with Tevez around what are the chance of anyone forgetting the Sheffield Utd saga and forgiving us...?

All I see here is nonsense from United fans who don't know anything about football. What happened to the real United fans? And not the ones from London who started supporting them in the 90s... United have already paid around 10M for the loan of Tevez, when he leaves united will get no money... Either united pay another 20M to make him theirs, or a new club has to pay 30M to MSI. So Tevez might have a problem finding a new club as who would pay 30M in the current climate?!

Paul Taylor (Manchester United fan) says...
No doubt he is a great player and I will be sad to see him go but the reported £30 million price tag is crazy. I think Berbatov is a better player and the consistensy of starting every game will benefit him if Tevez leaves. Berba for premiership top scorer next season.

Marc Saxon says...
I would be absolutely gutted if Tevez left. I have followed him ever since I first saw him at Boca but people need to realise that it isn't SAF fault. SAF like everyone else wants him to stay but United will not pay the money. This is all down to MSI and the fact that they have no interest in the players happiness or where he plays as long as they get a huge fee. Tevez has said he doesn't want mega wages and he has even asked his "agent" to drop the asking price but they refuse. Maybe United can't get the funds because they have already wasted them on Berbatov.

Please Sir Alex... sign him up! Tevez gives 100% every time he plays. His workrate, commitment, effort is priceless. I wasn't happy when Berbatov first came and I would be gutted if he drives Tevez out. Tevez has to stay. The fans adore him and he himself wants to stay. I would personally hate to see him play for another team!

Sammy United (Manchester United fan) says...
I think all the Man utd supporters who really wants Tevez to stay should go outside Old Trafford and demonstrate so Fergie can see how much we adore and support Tevez for his ability and proffesionalism as a Man Utd player. There has to be some form of occurance so everyone can see that we don't want Tevez to go. Him and Rooney as a a attacking force works perfectly well and with Macceda and Wellbeck growing as players there is no problems for United in their forward positions. And with Berbatov that guy needs to show his passion for United by working harder even if he has a different way of playing his enthuaism needs to be showed otherwise most fans will not convinced. Does anyone know any way how we can make this issue aware and that we are ready to go and show our love and support for Tevez so he will stay? Any suggestions? Maybe sky sports can bring up the issue of Man utd fans being dissapointed about hearing these news? MAN UTD 4 LIFE!!! Let Tevez stay!!

We need to sign Tevez on a permanent deal, the lad gives his all every single minute he plays!! He has made a huge impact on the fans and I personally LOVE HIM. Any player who is willing to tackle using his head, deserves some credit. Berbatov will come good but for the moment its Tevez and Rooney all the way.

Arggh!! Alex!! Please sign him up, everytime he leaves the pitch the fans chant - Fergie sign him up!! We all love him and he loves us! I would rather watch Tevez try his hardest and set up goals, than Berba jog around and tap in a goal. I don't even want to imagine Tevez in another shirt. It's so difficult when you have 3 world class strikers to choose from, but please buy him Fergie!!

Utterly disgusting, if Tevez leaves as a result of Berba's arrival I, and many many other Reds will have lost alot of respect for SAF. Not often, if ever I have ever thought such things, but to loose some one of that quality, that passion and loyalty would be a crime. To see him leave the PL would be bad enough but to leave OT.. alot of fans will be left with a hole in their heart, a void which 32 Million worth of Berba cannot fill. TEVEZ FOR UNITED.....UNITED TILL I DIE!!!

Please don't let Tevez go, he is brilliant. Soon Giggsy and Scholes will be hanging up there boots, so if you let him go that will be 3 Big gaps to fill.
