Andreas Granqvist has admitted that he would welcome the opportunity to move to Germany this summer.

The Sweden international only joined Dutch outfit Groningen from Wigan last year, but shone throughout his first season in Holland.

He has subsequently attracted interest from elsewhere, with a host of Bundesliga clubs believed to be preparing an approach.

Hamburg, Schalke and Wolfsburg are all reported to be interested, with Granqvist revealing he would be willing to talk terms with any one of that trio.

"I know they have been over here watching me," he told Aftonbladet.

"Nothing is settled yet though. We will see what happens in the next few weeks.

Ambition

"If I get the opportunity to play in a bigger league, like in Germany, I would obviously like that.

"It is my ambition to play in a top league again and they are good teams that we are talking about.

"But I would have no problem staying at Groningen for another season. I like it here."

Granqvists agent, Martin Dahlin, has refused to comment on the specifics of the mounting interest in his client, but does admit that the 24-year-old has options.

He said: "I can of course not comment on any clubs, but the interest in Andreas is big after a successful season in Holland."
