Norwich have confirmed midfield duo Sammy Clingan and Darel Russell are attracting interest from other clubs.

Clingan and Russell have been left behind for the club's tour of Scotland as the club weigh up the offers for the pair.

Coventry, Cardiff and Leicester have all been linked with Northern Ireland international Clingan with weekend reports suggesting the player had snubbed an offer from Coventry.

Norwich assistant boss Ian Butterworth confirmed the pair will remain behind in Norwich as the club considers their futures.

"There's obviously been interest in Sammy and Darel and we felt it was in the best interests of everyone concerned if they stayed at Colney to train and didn't travel with the squad," Butterworth told the club's official website.

"It's important for everyone in Scotland to be fully focused on continuing our pre-season preparations."

Defender Dejan Stefanovic will also miss the trip as he continues to recover from his anterior cruciate ligament injury.

Trialists

Meanwhile, Norwich have taken two players on trial as Bryan Gunn looks at options to bolster his squad.

Former Barcelona B striker Goran Maric will join the squad for the tour of Scotland, while Cambridge City midfielder Scott Neilson scored in Saturday's 7-2 friendly win over Dartford.
