John Arne Riise has revealed that he intends to head to the MLS once he severs ties with Roma.

The Norwegian full-back is under contract with the Italian giants until 2012 and is set to discuss an extension to that agreement later this month.

Riise is confident fresh terms will be thrashed out, allowing him to prolong his stay in Serie A.

He does, however, believe that the deal will be his last in Europe, as he is keen to take in a spell in America before he hangs up his boots.

"My contract with Roma? We will talk about it again at some point in September," the 29-year-old told Vg Nett.

Future

"I think the monetary issue and the length of the deal will be a formality.

"In my future I see myself playing for Roma for a few more years and then heading to the United States.

"I really want to play in the USA, it is a dream I have had for a long time.

"I have not thought about a club yet, but where David Beckham is playing (Los Angeles Galaxy) seems like a nice place to live."
