Bournemouth failed to close the gap at the top of League Two on Saturday, but Shrewsbury won to go fourth.

League leaders Rochdale's game with Rotherham was postponed for safety reasons, meaning second-placed Bournemouth could move to within two points of Dale at the top with victory over Northampton.

But the Cobblers pulled off a shock 2-0 away win at Dean Court thanks to goals from Luke Guttridge (5) and Ryan Gilligan (16).

Shrewsbury jumped into the play-off zone with an excellent away victory at Chesterfield.

In-form Dave Hibbert netted the all-important winner on 38 minutes to send the Shrews up to fourth, although they had to hold on for the last half hour after Dean Holden was sent off for a professional foul.

Bradford ended a run of three successive home losses with a 1-1 draw against Cheltenham.

James O'Brien scored after 35 minutes to put the Bantams ahead but the game turned when Steve Williams fouled Justin Richards to concede a penalty and was also sent off for a second bookable offence.

Richards slotted home the penalty on 54 minutes to earn the Robins a share of the spoils.

Ryan Lowe scored a last-gasp penalty as Grimsby and Bury shared a 1-1 draw at Blundell Park.

Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro had earlier put the Mariners in front in the 60th minute before Robert Atkinson fouled Ryan for the spot-kick.

The draw means the Mariners are four points from safety, while the Shakers move up to eighth in the table.

Hereford versus Crewe, Macclesfield against Morecambe and Darlington's clash with Port Vale were all postponed due to frozen pitches.
