Sanchez: Shown the door
Primera Liga strugglers Almeria have sacked coach Hugo Sanchez following a dismal run of results.
A 2-0 defeat away at Espanyol on Sunday was the club's fourth setback in their last five outings.
That alarming slump has left them just one point above the relegation zone and with just three victories to their name all season.
It has been decided that a chance in approach is now required, with B team coach Constantin Galca taking charge of first-team affairs until further notice.
"We are forced to take this step to provoke a reaction from the team," the club said in a statement posted on their official website.
Sanchez had been in charge at Almeria since replacing Valencia-bound Unai Emery in July 2008.
He becomes the fourth managerial casualty in the Primera Liga this season, with Abel Resino (Atletico Madrid), Juan Carlos Mandia (Racing Santander) and Marcelino Garcia Toral (Real Zaragoza) having already lost their jobs.
