Nowitzki: injured
Dallas Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki is out of action indefinitely due to a high left ankle sprain and sprained left knee.
Nowitzki, 29, sustained the injury during the Mavericks' defeat to the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday.
"It's a great test to understand who we are," said Nowitzki's team-mate Jason Kidd after the game.
"Are we up for this challenge?"
The play-off chasing Mavericks are currently in seventh place in the Western Conference.
