Webber: end of the road
A chronic left knee injury has forced Chris Webber to retire from basketball.
Webber, 35, had been hampered by the problem throughout a 15-year professional career that began when he was selected first overall in the 1993 draft.
"People say you've got go to until the wheels fall off," he said on Wednesday.
"Well, my wheel fell off. I went all the way until the end so I'm happy with that."
The five-time All Star started and finished his career with the Golden State Warriors and also enjoyed stints in Washington, Sacramento, Philadelphia and Detroit.
