Rossi: Right at home at Mugello
Valentino Rossi continued his remarkable run at the Italian Grand Prix, winning the race in Mugello for a seventh successive time.
The Yamaha rider recovered from a sluggish start from pole position to seal his third straight victory.
Thrilling his fanatical home crowd, the Italian reclaimed the lead within four laps and finished nearly four seconds clear of Australian world champion Casey Stoner.
Rossi currently leads the overall standings on 122 points, 12 clear of Dani Pedrosa. Jorge Lorenzo is third still stuck on 94 points after crashing out.
Spainiard Pedrosa finished in third on a Honda, while Alex de Angelis from San Marino, also aboard a Honda, managed to come home in fourth after starting on the fourth row of the grid.
British rider James Toseland put in another excellent display to claim sixth place on his Tech 3 Yamaha ahead of his home grand prix at Donington in three weeks' time.
